The Life Journey of Mr. T. Palanivel

Mr. T. Palanivel was born on March 16, 1978, in Paraiyappatti Pudur, a small village located in Aruur Taluk, Dharmapuri District, Tamil Nadu. He was born to Mr. Thangavel Gounder and Mrs. Suseela, a respected and hardworking couple belonging to the Kongu Vellalar Gounder community.

Early Life & Education

From a very young age, Palanivel displayed sincerity, discipline, and an eagerness to help others. He completed his school education in his native place and, after finishing his studies, took responsibility for managing his father’s agricultural lands. Though deeply rooted in village life and family values, he also nurtured a lifelong dream of serving the public through the police department.

Passion for Police Service

With strong determination, he appeared for the Tamil Nadu Police Recruitment Examination during the years 1998 – 2001. His hard work paid off — he successfully passed the examination. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, he was not appointed to the police service despite his success.

This setback did not discourage him. Instead, it became a turning point that shaped his journey ahead.

Marriage and Family Life

In accordance with his parents’ wishes, Mr. Palanivel married his maternal uncle’s daughter. The couple has since built a close-knit, supportive family, standing by each other through every challenge and success.

Move to Delhi and Early Business Career

In 2004, seeking broader opportunities, Mr. Palanivel moved to New Delhi, the national capital of India. There, he began his entrepreneurial journey by establishing a business enterprise named Harish Tharun Enterprises. Through dedication and hard work, he successfully managed and expanded this business, earning trust and respect among customers and associates.

Recognising the needs of Tamil families living in Delhi, he soon diversified his work — starting a grocery distribution service that provided high-quality household products at affordable prices. His aim was to make essential goods accessible to middle-class and working-class Tamilians far from their homeland.

Service During the COVID-19 Pandemic

The year 2020, marked by the global COVID-19 lockdown, became another milestone in his life. At a time when normal life had come to a standstill, Mr. Palanivel rose to the occasion with innovation and compassion.

He launched a mobile application named “Chennai Star”, through which grocery and essential items were delivered directly to the homes of Tamil residents living in Delhi. This initiative ensured safety and convenience for thousands of families who struggled to access basic supplies during the lockdown.

Beyond serving customers, this venture also created employment opportunities for nearly 300 economically weaker individuals, offering them a source of livelihood during one of the most challenging times in recent history.

Contributions to the Tamil Community in Delhi

Over the years, Mr. Palanivel has become a pillar of support for the Tamil community in Delhi. His continuous efforts — from affordable grocery services to community welfare activities — have strengthened unity among Tamilians living away from their native state.

He has earned the admiration of peers and the affection of countless families who view him not only as a businessman but also as a friend, helper, and well-wisher in times of need.

Inspiration to Others

Mr. T. Palanivel’s life is a shining example of perseverance, self-reliance, and social commitment. From a humble village background, through hard work, setbacks, and innovation, he has built a path of success and service.

He stands today as an inspiration to the younger generation, showing that true success is not measured merely by wealth or status, but by one’s ability to uplift others.

Without hesitation, we can say that Mr. T. Palanivel is a role model and a source of pride for his community and for Tamilians everywhere.
