Place of origin: Karur district, Tamil Nadu.
Education: Engineering (B.E.) from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. Post-graduate management (MBA or PGDM) from Indian Institute of Management Lucknow.
Social background: Agricultural family.

Police Career (IPS)

  • Joined the Indian Police Service (IPS), 2011 batch (Karnataka cadre). 
  • Held postings in Karnataka: e.g., Superintendent of Police for Udupi District and Chikkamagaluru District; later Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Bengaluru). 
  • Gained reputation as a “tough cop” in Karnataka, sometimes referred to as “Singham of Karnataka Police”.
